Help Dan Reimer and Dan Murphy Win the Title of Best Bartender at the House Party!
The second annual House Party, A Party with a Purpose is being held September 7th at the Greater Michigan Construction Academy.
This party is more than a fundraiser; it is a collaboration between Midland County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) and the Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA).
GMCA facilitates opportunities for career growth in the construction industry through continuing education programs. Starting in 2017 MCHFH and GMCA partnered to build affordable housing. MCHFH places two steel beams at the GMCA facility and provides the materials for the home to be built. GMCA provides the student labor to construct the home which also allows their students to gain hands on experience. Once the house is framed, sided, and rough plumbed, it is moved to location and completed by Habitat volunteers.
Together these organizations are collaborating to raise funds for a new, single family home to be built in the Midland community. Join us in building homes, community and hope in Midland County.
The event has raffles, a silent auction, dinner by Flying Trout Catering and a guest bartender competition. The bartenders are competing to see who can generate the most tips. The tips willl go toward the 2024 GMCA student house build.
