A Party with a Purpose
Join us for the House Party, a party with a purpose September 8th, 2022 from 5pm – 8pm.
This party is more than a fundraiser, it is a collaboration with Midland County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH), The Greater Michigan Construction Academy (GMCA) and the Home Builders Association of Midland County (HBA). These three great organizations are partnering to build affordable housing in Midland County.
GMCA facilitates opportunities for career growth in the construction industry through continuing education programs targeting craft workers, foremen, supervisors, project managers, superintendents and company management. Starting in 2017 MCHFH and GMCA partnered to build affordable housing. MCHFH places two steel beams at the GMCA facility and provides the materials for the home to be built. GMCA provides the student labor to construct the home which also allows their students to gain hands on experience. Once the house is framed, sided, and rough plumbed, it is moved to location and completed by Habitat volunteers.
Since 1961, the HBA has served as the leading not-for-profit trade organization dedicated to residential construction and remodeling in Midland County. The HBA works with government, public, business and community organizations to protect every family’s right to home ownership and is part of a three tier federation of the Local HBA, State of MI HBA and the National Association of Home Builders.
Together these organizations are collaborating to raise funds for new a new home to be built in Sanford, MI to bring affordable housing to the area after the devastating flood and dam failure of 2020. The House Party will be raising funds for the Habitat home to be built on Crescent Lane. Join us in creating safe, affordable housing in Midland County.
