MCHFH Build It Forward Multifamily Housing Informational Meeting

In 2018 urban planning group czb completed a housing analysis in Midland County, and the results revealed a surprising contradiction.Midland County housing is very affordable for most people, yet we still have a housing shortage.The majority of the shortage is within city limits. Why? In Midland County, the number of low-income households for exceeds the affordable housing units available.The private market cannot construct new homes for low-income families without losing money.
Midland County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) is responding to czb’s recommendation for a financially efficient solution to this housing shortage with the development of more multifamily housing units. MCHFH has launched a capital campaign to fund the construction of 10 multifamily units and six single-family units, in addition to revitalizing 125 owner-occupied homes throughout the next three years.
On January 23rd, 2020 MCHFH will be hosting an informational meeting at the Grace A Dow Memorial Library for the public to come learn about our multifamily housing development.The meeting will be held January 23rd in the Library Auditorium from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.
